All it really adds is another speech, this one by good ole’ Admiral (formally Captain) Pike (played by former JFK himself, Bruce Greenwood!):

“There’s greatness in you. But there’s not an ounce of humility. You think that you can’t make mistakes, but there’s gonna come a moment when you realize you’re wrong about that. Then you are gonna get yourself and everyone under your command killed.”

Guess Pike isn’t so sure of Kirk’s leadership skills after all, even after Captain Kirk saved Earth and himself.

It’s a great speech, reminiscent of the one Pike gave to convince Kirk to join Starfleet, only with the darker tone the entire movie seems to carry.

Plus, we see more Bones (Karl Urban)! My personal favorite!

Still, no idea who Cumberbatch actually is. And most the footage is from the original “Announcement” teaser or the amazing, lighter IMAX footage (which I have now seen 5 times…).

Can’t wait till Stardate May 17th, 2013.
