One last trailer tonight, which is also a sort of “half-trailer,” with a little more new substance than today’s Batman V Superman: Justice Begins teaser, but less than provided by Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘ second trailer.
The new trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road focuses on the franchise’s legacy, reaffirming promises that Fury Road is not a reboot, but a continuation of Max Rockatansky’s story of survival, whether he be played by Mel Gibson or Tom Hardy.
Here’s that “Trailer” titled, as one would have it, “Legacy.”
A wee bit of new footage there, and a little back-story and confirmation Mad Max films have always been this wacky for those who are new to the franchise. Sure, new Mad Max: Fury Road looks super stylized and beautiful while the old films have a dirty look, so there’s a bit of a prequel-Star Wars-films-not-looking-like-the-classic-stuff scenario going on here.
But why dwell on the past? Why can’t Fury Road top Road Warrior? Dream big, right?
