CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 With Robert Downey Jr. – The Do’s and Don’ts – PART III

Steve Rogers & Chris Evans in 'The Avengers'
When we hear about a movie we are excited for, we all have certain expectations for what we want to see and what don’t. Tell me you didn’t have things you hoped for in ‘Star Wars: Episode I’ that were crushed. And maybe now, especially after the prequel debacle, you may have strong feelings for what you want to see in ‘Episode VII’ and what you hope never see again. In this spirit, welcome to the 3rd and final installment of ‘Captain America 3 – The Dos and Don’ts!’ Read PART I ... READ MORE

CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 With Robert Downey Jr. – The Do’s and Don’ts – PART II

Captain America 3
Picking up where we left off in ‘Part 1,’ the following is what I hope to see, and not see, in ‘Captain America 3′ involving the ‘Civil War’ storyline.  Keep ‘Civil War’ Contained To ‘Capt. 3′ ‘Civil War’ in the comics lasted for months and months, crossing the books of all the big Marvel heroes. Simply put, way too much story for one film (unless you keep it small…). That being said as expressed in my other post about ‘Captain America 3,’ the Marvel ... READ MORE

CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 With Robert Downey Jr. – The Do’s and Don’ts – PART I

Captain America's Shield
As examined previously, Robert Downey Jr. is going to have a rather large role in ‘Captain America 3;’ the first time a major Marvel Cinematic Universe character has crossed over into another hero’s film in more than a cameo (sorry Black Widow & Nick Fury, but I’m talking the big guys with solo movies – Capt., Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, and even the Guardians of the Galaxy). This means ‘Capt. 3′ will follow Marvel’s ‘Civil War’ storyline, also discussed previously. Brief ‘Civil ... READ MORE

Robert Downey Jr. Will Be In CAPTAIN AMERICA 3! What It Means for the Flick and the MCU

Iron Man & Captain America
Robert Downey Jr. has been hinting for a while now that Marvel Studios has big plans involving his trademark character Tony Stark; he who kick-started the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in 2008’s ‘Iron Man.’ Speculation about ‘Iron Man 4′ has been thrown around for weeks, with RDJ accidentally(?) sending the impression that he would do a fourth film in the franchise that saved his career, even though he has been denying interest in said project for several years now. Instead, the other day RDJ confirmed at ... READ MORE

Why ‘Avengers 3′ WON’T Be Split Into 2 Movies And Thanos Might Need His Own Film

October 3, 2014 // 1 Comment

There’s a rumor floating around the net that ‘Avengers 3′ may be split into two movies. We have, of course, seen many films adapted from young-adult novels that split the final book into two movies. ‘Twilight Breaking Dawn Part 1 & 2,’ ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2′ and now ‘Hunger Games: Mocking Jay 1 & 2.’ Meanwhile Peter Jackson believes ‘The Hobbit’ is actually 3 super long movies; just as long as the non-extended versions of the entire ... Captain America Strikes!
Captain America is my favorite Avenger. He has the most interesting origin story… a man out of time constantly fighting Hydra, I enjoy watching him in combat with his shield on the ground as opposed to watching Iron Man or Thor fly about, and he’s just damn likeable as played by former Human Torch, Chris Evans. In THE AVENGERS INITIATIVE: PHASE TWO (starting with IRON MAN 3 and ending after GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY with AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON in summer 2015), Marvel Studios has really found the heart and soul of each of their ... Michael Bay Forgives Megan Fox By Letting Her Play With Teenagers (The Mutant Turtle Kind)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014
There is now a trailer for Michael Bay produced (not directed, thank god… may God have mercy on Marky Mark’s soul…) latest live action version of the infamous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Gone are the foam masks and stuffy costumes… here be creepy looking CGI turtles. And I kinda enjoy it. Somehow the Turtles’ origin (still driven by mutigen) is also linked to April O’Neil’s (Megan Fox) father. Reminds me of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. Yet there does seem to be hope! Shredder, the greatest preschool-era ... READ MORE

AVENGERS 2’s New Avengers Revealed: Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver

Comic Versions Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver
We now have set pics of Marvel Studios’ latest addition to their AVENGERS super franchise. Meet Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch! The children of Magneto…. who is owned by Fox… so we’ll get a changed origin? The are mutants after all, something we have yet to see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Check out Quicksilver here.Let’s just say… I’m not impressed. In fact, the combo of his face and the trademark silver hair look silly. But if you are to hit the jump, I have pictures of Scarlett Witch for ... READ MORE

Days of Future Past Cover
X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE past is looking to be one of the better films in the X-MEN franchise. It takes the characters from my favorite X-MEN film, FIRST CLASS, and mashes them together with an apocalyptic future and… The Wolverine! Since FIRST CLASS and THE WOLVERINE are my favorite X-flicks (the rest really don’t do anything for me), it will be fun to have Logan interacting with the likes of young Erik aka Magneto (the incomparable Michael Fassbender). It is also nice to see Fox has decided to take specific storylines from the ... READ MORE

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog. Here’s an excerpt: The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 12,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 4 sold-out performances for that many people to see it. 8 Impressions I Wish I Could Do (A List!)

February 20, 2014 // 0 Comments

Alan Alda
Impressions are fun. But the only one I can do is Christian Bales’ Batman. It requires yelling, but I nailed “WHERE IS HARVEY DENT?!?” and other great quotes like “Swear to Me!,”  “I’m not wearing hockey pads!,”RACHEL!” and “I’m not the hero this city deserves, but I’m the hero Gotham needs.” I learned the voice and the face (gotta have big lips protruding) from Pete Holmes’ Badman skits where he nails the Batman impression. I realize the last one is a ... READ MORE
